The best just got better
HT/1510 Predator, a comprehensive update to the HT/1508, builds on our original home theater subwoofer (winner of Home Theater of the Year awards on multiple continents) by updating every component and aspect. These updates were based on three key learnings:
1. It sounded so good, people wanted more power
2. Looks matter, and while it might be appreciated in the dark, a home theater subwoofer needs to look just as
as its audiophile-driven sibling
3. Pairing the HT/1510 with our top-tier models (T/x Series and S Series and Reference models) resulted in incredibly rich, seamless cinematic bass.
Then the HT/1510 Predator received a full 1,000-watt linear power amplifier and a new 15" (380 mm) driver with 40% more power to give the people what they wanted: bigger, faster dynamics and sheer POWER. This attack is matched with a stunning new cabinet with elegant new proportions to perfectly match other REL designs for a surround sound system that truly looks as good as it sounds. To make sure you get the benefits of these upgrades, we developed specialized HT versions of our award-winning PerfectFilter™ that deliver flatter, deep bass, now all the way down to 20 Hz. To top it all off, the HT/1510 Predator features the highest .1/LFE output of any REL. Always.
Design isn’t everything, it’s the only thing
HT/1510 Predator confidently delivers dramatic improvements in design elegance, performance and the execution of every detail in the cabinet design. Beauty, in this case, isn’t skin deep. We start with right-sized cabinets, beautifully crafted in horizontally veined black with a subtle sheen that evokes cutting-edge amplifiers. This gives the HT range the same elegant, refined proportions used in our Reference models at a fraction of the price. REL designs benefit from incorporating integral engineering solutions into all of their designs. Check out our BrilliantBrace™. Employed inside every HT/1510, it cradles the rear of the driver to eliminate shipping damage, silences and redirects energy normally trapped in the driver, and silences the top, bottom and both side walls of the cabinet. Brilliant. Additionally, full-depth rails used to responsively support and brace the powerful movements such a powerful subwoofer can produce allow Predator II to be stacked in 3/channel line arrays for the ultimate home theater experience, extending performance across the full height of massive projection screens.
Size matters, now more than ever
There’s simply something special about a big driver effortlessly delivering bass that small, hard-working subs can never match. At the heart of every REL is a truly exceptional driver. The HT/1510 Predator’s 15” (380 mm) driver retains the glass fibre and carbon fibre centre cap combination that enables fast, responsive bass with the punch that’s the hallmark of big, theatrical sound. Lightweight glass fibre allows the 3” (75 mm) voice coil to instantly accelerate the HT/1510 Predator’s cone, while the carbon fibre centre cap stiffens the composite structure, ensuring that even when it matters most, its cone structure remains intact and unphased by massive signals. Naturally, this benefits music reproduction too. Power handling has been increased, allowing the much more powerful amplifier to deliver its best without the fear that the driver might not keep up. Scale, speed and distinctive performance are the raison d'être of this flagship.
Now listen to this
If 800 watts weren't enough for you, surely the new HT/1510 Predator's 1,000-watt Class D linear power amplifier will cure your ills. Equipped with (4) 400-watt mosfets and a monstrous power supply, it's crucial to have massive reserves of current for when the explosions and special effects come calling. The HT/1510 Predator's amplifier delivers massive power with almost limitless reserves. This creates massive output that is available instantly, almost contemptuously, and is delivered in the effortless manner worthy of the flagship of the HT family.
Rise and Deliver
The HT/1510 Predator offers another unique REL innovation. For truly exceptional performance, Predators are designed to be stacked up to three (3) units high using the included REL Couplers™ that connect the lower units to the upper units. These solid, machined aluminum couplers bolt securely to each sub and, together with substantial rails on the underside of each cabinet, create an extremely heavy and sturdy bass tower. When used in stereo stacks (6 total, 3 per side), this represents over 8000 watts of peak power that forces (6) 15" drivers to work their hardest to deliver mind-blowing bass delivered in oceanic torrents of bass.
Airship II - Combined with Predator II, it completely transforms your home theater
For the first time, wireless High Level Input is made available to HT/1510 Predator owners. When combined with REL's all-new Airship II, cutting-edge Texas Instruments ADC-DAC chips, and REL's world-renowned High Level Input circuitry, it allows HT/1510 Predator owners to add High Level Inputs driven by the main amplifier outputs. When your receiver or AV processor is set up correctly, this provides a professional transfer studio sound, a sound that provides rich, full sound, every time. Not the thin, tight sound but the occasional bang that annoys you. in traditional home theater.
HT Air™ - ZERO COMPRESSION WIRELESS CAPABLE
There's wireless and there's REL wireless. We're known for having the best purpose-built wireless systems in the entire world of component audio. While HT-Air™ is affordable, it maintains our company-wide fixation on zero compression and maximum dynamics delivered via a 5.8 gigahertz network. HT-Air is designed to leave older Bluetooth-based systems in the dust, offering latency in the 16-20 millisecond range. This allows owners to place their HT/1510 Predator where it works best for them without resorting to unsightly cables strewn across your living room landscape, all while maintaining our class-leading, super-fast wireless.
